The closing Eucharistic celebration was held at Immaculate Conception Church with Most Reverend Stephen Jensen, National Spiritual Advisor, as celebrant. In his homily, Bishop Jensen spoke on the need to be in relationship with God and others in order to take part in God’s plan to gather his lost sheep. The national officers and Bishop Jensen reaffirmed their commitment to the League followed by the procession of the flag.
During the Gala Banquet later that day, the pageantry of a bagpiper and the clapping of attendees hands’ welcomed the arrival of the national executive, dignitaries and guests to the gala banquet. National President and Chairperson of International Relations, Fran Lucas addressed the attendees and thanked Kelowna and Kamloops for hosting a memorable convention. In celebration of the League’s 100th anniversary, National First Vice-President and Chairperson of Communications, Betty Colaneri presented an enjoyable historical pictorial presentation.
