Tribute to Captain Jennifer Casey

May 28, 2020 | Spotlight

Sunday, May 24th—Ascension Sunday and World Communications Day—marked the day when Captain Jennifer Casey’s body was flown back to Halifax for a proper military tribute and funeral. Captain Casey was a public affairs officer for the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the official aerobatic team of the Royal Canadian Air Force who died May 17th as the jet she was flying in crashed in Kamloops, British Columbia. Life members and representatives from the national, provincial, diocesan and parish levels gathered at the Kamloops airport for a tribute, including a minute of silence and prayer for Captain Casey, the Snowbirds, and the Canadian Forces. God go with them always and keep them safe and may those who have passed, rest in peace.
