The highlight of the day on Sunday August 14th, 2022 was the Opening Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Parish on the Vigil of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In attendance were four bishops, numerous priests, deacons, and a church filled to capacity with members and guests. Bishop Bittman’s homily spoke of Mary’s role as the arch of the new covenant and that God has taken her body and soul to heaven. Greetings were delivered by the District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus, Doug Greenwood and a letter was read from the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. A wine and cheese reception followed.
