St. Francis of Assisi and World Food Day Celebrations

Oct 3, 2018 | In the News, Media, News Releases

The Feast of St Francis of Assisi is celebrated on October 4th each year. He is credited with being the first to recognize the earth as holy inspiring many to lead lives of poverty, simplicity, humble service, and is the Catholic church’s patron saint of animals.

October 16th is World Food Day. Did you know 1 in 9 people experience hunger globally? Create awareness by asking  family, friends, or League parish council to donate to a local food bank, St. Vincent de Paul, or purchase a lunch for a person in need.
