Resolution 2004.01 Protection of Human Life

Whereas, In view of its inherent dignity, human life at all its stages deserves legal protection; and
Whereas, Genetic and biological science shows that human life begins with the process of fertilization; and
Whereas, The life of any child who survives an attempted abortion should be protected; therefore, be it
Resolved, That the national council of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada, in 84th annual national convention assembled, urge the federal government to recognize that human life begins with the process of fertilization enact legislation prohibiting the termination of human life at any stage of development.
Requested Members’ Action:
Write letters to federal ministers of health and justice urging legislation that recognizes that human life begins at fertilization and prohibits killing of human life at any stage; send a copy of your letter to your member of parliament and the prime minister.
