Elaine Black, Cathy Favaro and Shirley Pierce, members of Prince Edward Island Provincial Executive and of St. Francis of Assisi Parish Council (Cornwall) sewed approximately 150 face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the masks were given to families and friends; however, the majority were donated to the WI Mask Project, a fundraiser initiated by the Prince Edward Island’s Women’s Institute. One hundred per cent of proceeds will go directly to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation to assist in purchasing “Ease Back” medical equipment. Provincial President Shirley Pierce also made 27 headscarves with for essential workers.
