President’s Outings!

Nov 17, 2021 | In the News, Media, News Releases

What does The Catholic Women’s League of Canada’s national president do during a global COVID-19 pandemic when she so wants to be out and about with members? The majority of council, diocesan, provincial and Military Ordinariate meetings are occurring virtually. Various celebrations across Canada that the president would typically receive an invitation to postponed or defaulted to online events. I am confident this will change in the New Year. Until then, I think I will still “get out there” as best as I can and share these times with members. It may be something observed from a daily walk or an event held in my diocese or elsewhere in my province. Maybe even a road trip to a neighbouring province for coffee! Where there is a will, there is a way. So let’s see what there is around me that I can share with you!
The first outing involved long-anticipated air travel and taxicab rides and happened in October with the national executive/board meeting in Winnipeg. Sixteen members of the board were present in person, while eight joined virtually. Read the press release at cwl.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/20211020-Post-Fall-Board-Meeting-Press-Release.pdf for more meeting information.
Members are invited to watch this spot on or around the fifth of each month to read and share in my latest outing. Enjoy!
