President’s Outings – March 2023

Christ is Risen! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Once again I am glad to share my various outings for the month. March began with the national board meeting In Toronto. You may have seen or read about our retreat there with Josephine Lombardi.  The outgoing provincial Presidents celebrated the provincial Presidents staying on to complete their final year with a very entertaining performance.

Taking part in the National Lenten Retreat led by our National Spiritual Advisor Bishop Steven Jensen, and coordinated by Cathy Bouchard our National Spiritual Development Chair Person, was a great addition to my Lenten journey.

Attending the installation of my council’s small new executive was so great. Our Spiritual Advisor Fr. Rambabu Kanaparthi presided and was also given his Spiritual Advisors pin.

On a sad note, on a chilly, windy morning along with thousands of others, I stood on the street in profound sadness watching the procession to the regimental funeral of the Edmonton City Police Const. Travis Jordan and Const. Brett Ryan. Never having participated in such an event before I truly hope I never need to again.

March is a tricky month weather wise.  On one of my cooler walk days, the beauty of the North Saskatchewan River grabbed my attention.  Standing admiring what Mother Nature had created – the swirls formed out of  the powerful water beneath – had my attention for a long while.

On a trip out to support St. Vincent DePaul Society at their antique sale, I treated myself to a unique English fine bone china coffee mug! Painted with the image of the Alberta rose, my provinces official flower, drinking the coffee from it is especially good!

Enjoy the remaining Easter Season as spring continues to burst forth!
