President’s Outings – December 2021

President’s Outings!

Today I share my recent outing and non-outing events. What a pleasure to be included in the ceremony to celebrate the unveiling of a bench by the Holy Trinity Parish Council (Parkland County, Alberta) on October 25th. A beautiful reminder to all who will come to enjoy the green space in Willow Park Natural Area in Stony Plain and it will bring awareness of the League’s presence in the community. Along with many League and community members in attendance were Alberta Mackenzie Provincial President-Elect Mary Hunt and Edmonton Diocesan President Mary Molloy.

On November 18th, my non-outing was a virtual coffee chat with Pamela Gregorchuk, past president of Holy Family Parish Council (Sechelt, British Columbia). Pamela won the draw for coffee with the national president, which nearly 700 members entered. The draw was open to anyone responding to the implementation committee’s smartphone application working group’s survey. Pamela and I chatted for half an hour about her years of service as a member, the successes of her council, the upcoming national convention in Kelowna and the recent flooding issues affecting British Columbia. It was a pleasure to have this time with a member I had not yet met. There were definite feelings of us being together and not virtual.

I hope you enjoy the photograph and video clip of these outings. Thank you to smartphone application working group member Kari Schwab of St. Bonaventure Parish Council (Calgary, Alberta), who produced the video and photograph.

Stay well everyone!
