Neonicotinoid Pesticides

March 15, 2018

Resolution 2015.03: Banning the Use of Neonicotinoid Pesticides is seeing some slow and marginal action , but action none the less, is being taken in a positive direction. The Pest Management Regulatory Agency will be recommending that one of the three most damaging neonics be banned now with another in 2021. France is banning all such pesticides in September of 2018 and the European Union member countries are expected to approve a proposal to ban neonics in a vote later this month. League members are encouraged to continue communicating with members of parliament to specifically ask for support to the resolution and a response on what action will be taken in that regard. Let’s celebrate the small wins but keep on eye on the end result!
