Monday, August 15th Mass

Aug 19, 2022 | Spotlight

Monday, August 15th was the first day of the business sessions at the Annual National Convention, and began with the celebration of mass. In his homily, Most Rev. Martin Currie (Archbishop Emeritus of St. John’s), reminded those in attendance that in some countries the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary remains a holy day of obligation. Examples of the suffering experienced by Mary highlighted her relevancy today. Like Mary, members felt inspired, motivated, and honoured to be called by God, and to bring hope to today’s world by living out the League’s mission and purpose.
