Implementation Committee Update – October 2022

The Power of Words

Christa Grillmair, Goal 1 Lead

Members can create positive change through their actions. Actions speak louder than words, but words are actions too. Words can have an impact—they can inform, inspire and influence.

The effective communications working group knows that words are important. Words can convey information and instructions. The content of a message is important, but how it is communicated is also essential. It can engage and build a two-way relationship if it is sent to the right person. This group is now working on a communications guide.

The marketing group has taken words from the national sisterhood map and created positive and affirming messages—words like action, change, connection and hope. Explaining what these words mean to the League will start a conversation. Working with Clark Marketing Communications, the team is now developing a campaign to help parish councils share these words.

People never stop learning, though training requires some special leadership skills. The training and development using technology working group is creating a train-the-trainer guide to help members organize and deliver training programs. This group will continue to review and update existing programs and create new ones.

These three groups and many others are working to keep the League vibrant and relevant for the next 100 years.
