My dear sisters,

We have been encouraged to read the psalms throughout Lent as they provide so much comfort, especially during this most unusual time. A few of the following passages speak to us now as they did in the time of war and strife. You may wish to read and reflect on the entire psalm of which a few small portions are included:

Be to me a rock of refuge, a strong fortress, to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.…
For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth. Upon you I have leaned from my birth… (Ps 71:3, 5-6).

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! (Ps 27:14).

Psalms 4, 19, 20, 23 and 91, among others, provide calming words to which we may turn, and need to turn, in this time of tribulation. While we cannot be with any version of physical community, we are blessed with technology so we may be one in spirit with our sisters in Canada and throughout the world, as we celebrate a spiritual communion until we may once more go to the table of the Lord.

Take refuge in Christ, your Saviour, and rejoice in the gift of Christ’s passion and resurrection. Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again. Rejoice and be glad!

Happy Easter to all my sisters and your families. May God bless your season with peace and joy!

“…‘Were not our hearts burning within us?…’…‘The Lord has risen indeed…’” (Lk 24:32, 34).

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Anne
