Communique #7 – Organization
National Chairperson of Organization Fran Lucas, January 2, 2020
“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
Parish councils should now have completed or nearly completed the online annual report surveys, due January 15th. It was encouraging to see the number of councils that had completed the surveys prior to December 31st. The goal this year is for a better participation rate than last year. With diocesan councils (and provincial councils, where there is no diocese) having access to the reporting information, encourage councils if you see participation has not yet been completed. Detailed information on the process of accessing survey results was distributed in October by Executive Director Kim Scammell. On November 27th, a reminder e-mail was sent to all provincial and diocesan chairpersons of organization (or substitutes).
The following chart indicates the dates reports are due:
|Parish President||Diocesan President||January 15|

Membership fees, as per the National Manual of Policy and Procedure, are due to parish councils on January 1st of each year. It is important for parish councils to remit per capita fees to national office by February 28th as diocesan, provincial and national levels depend on these fees to operate. Any council not yet using the online membership process is encouraged to do so. The system is easy to use and gives councils the ability to print reports on members’ status at any time.
As we look forward to celebrating the 100th anniversary of the League, let us use that longevity and sustaining power as a catalyst to personally invite a great influx of new members! Please come up with ways your council can make this happen. Watch the national website for information on the needs of working group members for the strategic plan. May we all be inspired by the Spirit to share our gifts and recognize those new members bring.
Please share this information with your diocesan and parish council counterparts and provincial life member liaison.
May 2020 be a year of continued growth in our love of God and love for one another.
Your sister in the League,
National President-Elect and Chairperson of Organization
