Communique #22 – Community Life
National Chairperson of Community Life Marie Rackley, April 30, 2021
My dear League sisters,
I pray this communique finds you well, even though the SARS-CoV-2 virus continues to spread throughout the country. I pray members will one day be able to meet face to face and share the love they have for one another. In Eastern Canada, Christians were able to attend Easter services in small numbers. It was wonderful to experience the new light, new fire and the renewal of baptismal vows.
Mary’s Meals Support Hungry Children
The next special occasion is Mother’s Day, to be celebrated on May 9th. Although many will be unable to share this day with their mothers due to pandemic restrictions, I am pleased to inform you that Mary’s Meals [see The Canadian League, winter 2021] has offered to celebrate the amazing women who make this work possible—the mothers, grandmothers and aunts across Canada and those who serve hungry children worldwide every day.
Members can stand in solidarity with women throughout the world who bring hope to hungry children and their communities by supporting the mission to provide life-changing daily meals in a place of education. Ask your diocesan chairpersons to encourage members to honour a woman they love by supporting Mary’s Meals. Visit marysmeals.ca/mothersday or call (855) 702-0330 to purchase a gift card and become part of Mary’s Meals global family.
May Our Lady of Good Counsel bless all mothers. As May begins, let us remember Our Mother Mary by saying the rosary daily for the health of families.
