The national executive/board held a teleconference November 13-14 and I am happy to share two items discussed and approved.

National Development Fund
It was agreed that the National Development Fund in 2021 be restricted to programs, workshops and retreats organized for the purposes of advancing the League’s envisioned future through strategic planning efforts. This will include workshops on the Welcome Program and nationally-planned workshops on executive orientation, Catholic social teaching, core value toolkits, etc.

Leadership Training
The League’s executive secretary will be presenting a webinar titled Online Membership – Everything You Need to Know! on December 4th at 1:00 p.m. CST and on December 12th at 2:00 p.m. CST. Visit the national website, and scroll to Quick Links to register. Chairpersons are encouraged to participate to allow for a well-rounded understanding of the online membership system process. The information is directed to the parish level but having provincial and diocesan levels attend is welcome. Please communicate this to your diocesan counterparts. Acknowledging that one-third of all parish councils receive their information by mail and being the ones that then choose to process membership manually, all chairpersons are asked to promote the value of online membership submissions. It is simpler, faster and the way of the future.
