Women in the Church

Whereas, the Catholic Women's League of Canada are seeking to serve more fully in the life of the church and in the work of evangelization; and

Whereas, The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) responded to a resolution to initiate a study to determine the number of women currently employed in policy making positions, on delegations, commissions and councils at national and diocesan levels of the church in Canada; and

Whereas, The CCCB promoted the holding of parish and area meetings which gave women the opportunity to express their views on what their own role in the church is, and what it should be; therefore, be it

Resolved, That the national council of The Catholic Women's League of Canada, in 56th annual national convention assembled, extend its appreciation and highest commendation to the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops for their special interest; and, be it further

Resolved, That the members of The Catholic Women's League of Canada be encouraged to continue their growth in awareness of the needs of the church and the various roles of service which they can and desire to render.
